7s vs Norseman 6s (a), 0-4, 23.11.19

Winchmore hill 7’s vs Norseman 6’s Lost 4-0

Top vs Second... With each team playing each other 3 times this season it has made the season more competitive all round. This being our second game against each other the first going our way.  This time the result went theirs.

Finding out some interesting facts after the game showed me that they feared us after the last time, fielding 4 first team players against us due to only 2 of their teams having games this weekend, to make sure they get the result. Disappointed that they had done that but that’s how they wanted to get the win against us and try to create a bigger gap between us.

But they won’t be able to bail them out all season and sooner or later they will slip points along the way and all we need to do is make sure we turn up every week and give our best performance on the day. Then at the end of it all we can look at each other with our heads high, whatever happens.

During the start of the game we did ok but just not making the right decisions in the final third, so to disrupt us they decided to play dirty and get in our faces and I’ll guess it worked.

We couldn’t make the ball stick we were giving the ball away easily and getting frustrated at the referee which was obviously their game plan because he wasn’t really trying to control the game.

With flying challenges coming in from both teams it was only a matter of time before someone got hurt and it happened to our new signing Troy unable to stand the opposition decided to run up to him yelling to stand up. No respect or class, he had to be carried off and unable to continue.

With two of there goals being debatable offside and the other two being absolute beauties that would destroy any defence, they just showed that quality in the final third to Finnish us off.

The team wanted to make complaints to and about the ref but again we aren’t playing against the ref we are playing against the other team, we need to remember that as we keep forgetting.

Sure he wasn’t the greatest but neither were we and it’s easier to blame others then take on the responsibility ourselves, because at the end of it all we were not good enough and instead of playing our game with our style of play we decided to get involved and forget how we win games in the past.

Their tactics worked and we just lost our focus unfortunately, but a nice breather this weekend as it’s an SAL Cup game giving others a chance to stake their claim in the team and show that they should be starting and pushing us through the season.

“This result doesn’t mean anything right now all that matters is how we react to it all, as the only result that matters is the final one when the season finishes.”
